"The subject of my work varies. The common thread is my desire to render an emotion of state of being not easily verbalized but commonly shared. I very much want a visceral response and strive to create visually strong objects. I do not rely on the intrinsic beauty of the glass and bronze but wish to transcend it. I am interested in form as communication, a struggle for clarity and to be visually articulate.
"The goblets reflect my interest in modernizing the old Venetian techniques. There is a real sense of whimsy I feel that stems form the forms and proportions of Venetian goblets.
"Glass is a wonderful thing. I think what has kept me in it is the multi-level interest I have. I spend an hour a day working on my glass formulations. I am constantly changing my palette."
