Mary Martin Gallery

Seven years before Mary opened the gallery in Charleston, she acquired a large painting by an artist named Jerry Georgeff for the space above her fireplace in her new home in Colorado Springs.  In 2004 hoping to represent Jerry Georgeff in Charleston, Mary searched for him in Denver without success.  Three years after opening Mary Martin Gallery at 39 Broad Street, a sales consultant called Mary at home just before she was leaving for a trip to report that an artist had dropped by the gallery to see her.  Inquiring if Mary would be interested in meeting with him, Mary said "Absolutely not, I am leaving in a few minutes."  The sales consultant said, "He is from Denver and I thought you might want to meet him."  Just before hanging up, Mary asked his name.  Upon hearing that his name was Jerry Georgeff, Mary said,  "Hold him right there,  I will be there in 10 minutes.  Don't let him leave."  His works speak loudly in European skill and charm.  Jerry Georgeff will be exhibiting his new work from his travels this year in Spain.  In years past we have shown his work from Tuscany and surrounding areas.  Known as the gourmet artist, Jerry cooks and eats his way through these countries for weeks at a time.  But, best of all, his work takes the viewer on the trip with him.  Warm, soulful, charming, his work will make your home a palace.
