Mary's Comment:

"Earthy, organic, compelling is how I describe Richard's work.  Statement pieces, certainly.  Beautiful works of art, absolutely.
People love to stand with them and enjoy all the nuances of the pieces which communicate the artist's intentions and love of material as well as design.  Today a person came in to buy a mid-sized sculpture and he cradled it as he walked out.  I knew just what he was thinking and feeling as he left the gallery.  I almost wanted to go with him to see where he would place it and watch him enjoy it.  But then, I would have been invading his joy.  I will settle for a photo from him."

Gift of Love - Bronze (Photo is of Clay)

Love is the only positive commodity that expands as it is given away.  Love not only inspires itself to be returned to the giver, but also to be extended outward in new directions.  It is natural for those who know that they are loved, to love.

This sculpture is of a loving and well-loved woman.  She is in a relaxed pose and gazing with satisfaction at those to which she has dedicated her effort, her being, and her very existence to the extent of whatever levels her personal situation allows.  She is a symbol of motherhood, nurture, dedication and generosity of self.  Her eyes are worn but loving, filled with the promise that the inexhaustible supply that is her source, will continue to abundantly overflow and be freely given.

This sculpture celebrates, and is dedicated to, those who pass it on and to those who pay it forward.

Bronze - Richard's sculpture, Movement, just won a top award at the Sundance Mountain Sculpture Exhibition in Colorado.

Richard Pankratz is one of America's great artists in creating from the earth his clay and bronze sculptures. His pieces evoke a connection between viewer, artist, and spirit. If there is interactive art, then Richard's is at the top of the class.  Some of his sculptures are also fountains and offer the musical sound of water as well as offering a delight to the eyes. Each piece begs to be touched all the while the intellect is stimulated by his thoughful comments about the creation of the piece. Owning a Pankratz piece is not to be missed.

"Art has always been my focus.  I let my imagination run wild and then I create what I have envisioned. After teaching art for twelve years, I became a full time artist in 1975.  My lifetime art studies include undergraduate study at the Kansas City Art Institute, as well as Bachelor's and Master's degrees in art from Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas."

Richard produces very low numbered editions making each one a very precious possession.
